About three miles from the Chappy Ferry on Chappaquiddick Island is a hidden gem. Mytoi Garden is a serene Japanese-style garden nestled in a 14-acre pine forest where you can immerse yourselves in the peaceful, Zen-like surroundings of nature. At the center of the garden is a small pond with an arched wood bridge leading to an island. Spend an hour or two here, walk together along the quiet paths, and emerge refreshed and ready to return to Martha's Vineyard. The parking lot holds only 15 cars, so if you're the 16th car, you'll have to turn around and return later. That's good news for the people in the garden, because it's never crowded. The gardens are open every day of the year.
