You'll catch Ptown's local characters (I once spotted Pultizer Prize-winner Michael Cunningham dressed up as Pat Nixon!) at this tiny in-the-know basement bar, which hosts crazy nights like Kook on Sundays, where everyone comes in costume for theme nights, like Great Women of Rock and Roll. There's a busy outdoor terrace in front, and inside the ceiling is only about seven feet high, causing instant intimacy among the patrons, and there's a small stage for wacky dancers and singers. Men, women, gays, and straights all converge here for the rowdiness, a welcome break from Ptown's other more predictable nightlife. Otherwise, during the day, Enzo is a respectable restaurant and bar fronting the parade of cruising on Commerical Street.
