  • The mile-long beach here is good for sunbathing, swimming, and beachcombing for shells and shark teeth. Two miles of hiking trails include a short boardwalk that traverses a swamp, where you might spot wood ducks, pileated woodpeckers, warblers, and owls. Given all these activities, it's a great option for an interesting family day trip.
