• This is a vista used since early times by Shawnee to Civil War soldiers to look out on the woodlands of Northern Kentucky.
• Carrington Rock Trail is accessed via the Sheltowee Trace Trail, leaving the Clear Creek Recreation Area, a fine camping destination in and of itself.
• Take the Sheltowee Trace two miles southbound from Clear Creek, climbing some switchbacks to reach the vista in two miles. It is one-and-a-half miles farther to Furnace Arch, with a great view from atop it.
