Punta Divers is a highly recommended diving school in Punta del Este run by Paul Diaz. They can do day excursions to places like Isla de Lobos or Gorriti Island, both off of the coast of Punta. Their instructors speak English, and you can also rent equipment from them. They are located near the central bus station in downtown Punta.
