Winding up the face of Vache Noire, the Via Ferrata is a climbing route featuring bridges, ladders, and cables that you can tackle with or without a guide. Three paths with different difficulty levels hang over the Diable River. The novice route, open to children age seven and up, takes about three hours. The intermediate route, for those 11 and older, takes about four and a half hours. The expert route, which scales the cliff to spectacular viewpoints, takes about five hours. Guided tours take groups of six to eight, lending technical assistance en route to the 650-foot summit.
