You'll also find local lads renting their camels out for guided tours up and down the sand—a fun photo op and a nice way to take in the scenery, plus you may be able to negotiate for longer trips to the wilder dunes on the southernmost portion of the beach if you feel so inspired. Rates are cheap but it never hurts to bargain, and even though the camels are docile enough for children to ride them, be sure to aim for the older animals, which are less ornery than the younger ones.
