Located in Toucari Bay, off the lesser-dived northern side of the island, Toucari Caves comprises a formation-rich section of seafloor. The dive starts in about 40 feet of water on a couple of coral-encrusted boulders-turned-reefs and slopes down to about 90 feet deep, passing through myriad tunnels and archways. Black urchins vie for space on the rocks while soldierfish and glassy sweepers linger in the darkened tunnels. Dive shops on the more populated southern half of the island rarely venture to these diving grounds, but Cabrits Dive Centre runs trips from nearby Prince Rupert Bay (prices start at $55 for a one dive trip, $88 for two).
