On Bermuda's southern shore, south of Hamilton, the pale pink sand of Elbow Beach stretches nearly a mile. It's probably the most popular beach in Bermuda and you'll know it by the flocks of locals and visitors. The beach is big enough to absorb them all and it somehow remains a quiet and peaceful respite from other parts of the island. At least three hotels sit on its perimeter, the best known being the impressive Elbow Beach Hotel set on 50 acres. The resorts own part of the beach but the rest is open to the public. Protected from rough waters by a coral reef, Elbow Beach is one of the safest beaches on the island for swimming.
