• Join a Park Ranger for an Ice Worm Safari at the trailhead to Byron Glacier on summer Tuesdays or Saturdays at 3 p.m., down the road from the visitor center. After a short, easy hike to the Byron Glacier snowfield you'll hunt for rare, diminutive ice worms, which thrive on glaciers and snowfields in certain parts of South-central Alaska. Trail maps are available for this hike if you want to go.
• Don't miss the award-winning film, "Voices from the Ice," shown hourly at the visitor center.
• Spend some tie glassing the alpine tundra with binoculars from the valley floor—bears are frequent foragers of the high country.
