Dalvay-by-the-Sea is a Victorian mansion at the east end of Prince Edward Island National Park. It was built in 1895 as a summer home by a Scottish-American oil tycoon. It became a summer resort in the 1930s and still operates today as an inn and dining room. One needn't be a guest to visit the grounds and appreciate the elegant structure, declared a national historic site for its architectural significance. The dining room is open to the public for all meals, but reservations are highly recommended for dinner service. Bike rentals are also available to non-guests, with options including tandems, baby trailers, and children's tag-along bikes, along with "Picnic & Bike" packages.
