A locally-built 36-foot outrigger canoe speeds you around the lagoon to go snorkeling in remote spots, including many empty beaches you can stroll up and down on while your hosts cook you up a Polynesian lunch feast. The meal is served on plates made of woven leaves, and includes grilled tuna, poisson cru (raw fish in coconut milk), uru (breadfruit), cake-like coconut bread dipped in coconut milk, and fresh pineapple and watermelon. Guests also learn how to open a coconut and receive lessons in the art of Tahitian dance. You watch a blacktip shark-feeding demonstration in the morning, then stop for the lunch and a swim, and then pet stingrays on your way home in the afternoon, which glide safely against your legs and swoop in close enough to touch.
