Randy Wilson, one of the better-known skippers in Costa Rica since 1974, runs these excellent fishing trips for big game like sailfish, marlin, dorado, and wahoo. Four- to seven-person boats take you in less than an hour to the edge of the continental shelf, where most of the big fish are found. Half days are five hours and include a snack, while full days are nine hours and include a complete box lunch, with beers, soft drinks, and bottled water. Although fishing is good all year, the peak season for sailfish, marlin, and tuna is April through September.
