- Visitors with mobility restrictions should be aware that getting around Maho Bay Estate requires climbing a lot of stairs. A lush forest rises from the beach to an altitude of almost 1,000 feet.
- You'll need a permit from the park department to use the facilities at Maho. A pavilion on the west end of the beach issues the permits, which also allows you access to restrooms.
- The Goat Trail at the east end of the Maho Bay Beach leads to Little Maho Bay, where the campgrounds are located.
