World-famous, heart-shaped Magens Bay secured its title as one of the Caribbean's great beauties eons ago, but that broad, postcard-perfect strand suffers from a little too much affection, drawing a substantial cruise-ship crowd most days. With a goal to help relieve some of the pressure, local authorities acquired land surrounding formerly beleaguered Lindquist Beach (aka Smith Bay), cleaned it up, and installed picnic tables and lifeguards. The word isn't out yet, however, allowing the sea-grape and palm-lined strand to slumber blissfully under the radar—a local's secret that is ideal for lovers seeking a hideaway.
