It's a 25-minute gondola ride from Whistler Village up to the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Budget at least two hours to enjoy the whole experience. The Peak 2 Peak Gondola is a ride with a view and a link to alpine hiking trails. Spanning the mountains of Whistler and Blackcomb, this 4.4-kilometer-long (2.7-mile-long) ride takes passengers across a deep-cut valley with the Fitzsimmons Creek flowing through it. As the scene unfolds, it's increasingly impressive—and high. Indeed, the Peak 2 Peak is the highest lift of its kind, at 436 meters (1,430 feet) above the valley floor. The cabins fit 28 people, with wrap-around windows providing a panorama. It doesn't matter where you sit: The view is stunning at every angle. There are even two glass-bottomed gondolas in the fleet. At either side, there's a selection of trails to choose from, along with mountain huts serving food and refreshments. Bring an extra layer of clothes for all family members, as it's almost always cooler on the mountaintop. And also be sure that everyone has sturdy shoes for hiking.
