Two family-oriented rafting trips are offered up by Whistler River Adventures. For ages five and older (with a minimum weight of 50 pounds), there's the Cheakamus River, featuring sections of Class II rapids, hanging glaciers, and the peaks of the Tantalus Range in the backdrop. Offered twice daily in summer in the Squamish Valley, it's a 4.5-hour round trip with just 1.5 hours in the raft. The other option is for older kids—minimum age ten—on the Green River. Laced with Class II and III rapids, it starts just eight kilometers (five miles) from Whistler on the placid waters of Green Lake before funneling downriver on a seven-kilometer (4.5-mile) liquid roller coaster. This 2.5-hour-long trip (with an hour on the water) is offered three times a day through summer. Founded in 1984, Whistler River Adventures also offers an eight-hour "thrill seeker" rafting trip, along with jet boating and fishing trips. Transportation from Whistler is included.
