Trail Beginning: 8,600 ft. Big Goose Road #631 from the west fork of Big Goose Creek Bridge to Twin Lakes Picnic Ground Road.
Trail Ending: 9,300 ft. at Coney Lake in the Cloud Peak Primitive Area.
Attractions and Considerations: The trail is narrow, with steep, rocky hills and small stream crossings. There are two or three steep hills on this trail. Overall it is moderately difficult. Cold and snow can grip the area at any time.
Narrative: The trail winds up Coney Lake are past Big Stull Lake on the left. Little Stull Lake is off the trail on the right. Most of these lakes have fish. The trail winds down through lodgepole and spruce forests, with wet parks scattered throughout the area and mountains on both sides. The last 1/2 mile is in an open basin above timberline. Herds of elk and deer are in this area.
Directions: From Sheridan, Take US Hwy. 87 south from Sheridan to the junction of State Hwy. 335. Take 335 to Big Horn, go through Big Horn, travel west for 31 miles to Twin Lakes Picnic Ground sign, and turn left. Walk up Twin Lake Service Road to Twin Lake No. 1. Twin Lake Service Road is about 1/2 miles and is closed to vehicles.
