Trail Beginning: 8,420 ft at the end of Devils Canyon gravel road parking lot.
Trail Ending: 8,600 ft. at the end of Jaws Road, below Porcupine Campground.
Attractions and Considerations: Bucking Mule Falls NRT is excellent for horse travel and well suited for weekend backpackers. The trail is well marked and maintained. Campsites and grazing area for stock are limited by heavy timber and steep terrain. The 11 miles of this trail varies in grade. Several areas as steep as 20 percent must be negotiated.
Narrative: Bucking Mule Falls NRT provides access to the Bucking Mule Falls overlook, where one may view this spectacular waterfall of more than 600 feet. The trail crosses Devils Canyon and offers excellent opportunities for photos. Fishing, though limited because of steep and inaccessible terrain, can be enjoyed on the upper stretches of Porcupine Creek.
Directions: From US Hwy. 14A, From US Hwy. 14A, take Sheep Mountain Road north 3.5 miles to it intersection with Devils Canyon Road. Go west on Devils Canyon Road seven miles to parking lot at the end of the gravel road.
