Red Fox Nature Trail is one of the dryer trails at Horicon Marsh.

Red Fox Nature Trail provides a half-mile hike through grass meadow and brush habitat. The trail begins across from the southern parking area along Horicon Ternpike Auto Tour. A pit toilet is offered. A few hardwoods and farm foundation remnants add diversity to the trail. About midway, access is afforded onto Redhead Hiking Trail. It is possible to view songbirds, waterfowl, and long-legged waders on the trail. Pets prohibited. Cross-country skiing is permitted, however, trails are not groomed.

Directions: From Waupun, WI, Travel several miles west along Hwy. 49. Turn right (south) following Horicon Ternpike Auto Tour south approximately 2.25 miles to parking area on right side of road. Trail begins across road.

Elevation: 850 feet

Elevation Gain: Minimal

Distance: 0.5 miles

Difficulty: Easy
