Coal Lake Trail is an east one mile hike. The trail begins along Coal Lake Road #4060 and ends at Coal Lake. This pretty 6 acre lake is situated in a subalpine setting. The trail is an easy portage for canoes and rubber rafts, but there is only a limited number of campsites around the lake. A vault toilet is provided for hikers and campers. Expect the trail and lake to be busy on summer weekends.

Directions: From Verlot, Travel east on the Mt. Loop Hwy. for 15 miles. Turn left on the Coal Lake Road #4060. Continue 4.4 miles to the trailhead.
