Hikers begin on the Norse Peak Trail #1191. The trail is in a high alpine setting. At mile 0.2, there is a beautiful view of Castle Mountain and the Goat Lake basin area. At mile 1.6, the Goat Lake Trail approaches Barnard Saddle and the junction with the Pacific Crest Trail.
Directions: From Enumclaw, Drive 33.1 miles east on State Hwy. 410 to the Crystal Mountain Road #7190. Turn left onto FR #7190 and continue for 4.2 miles to FR #7190410. Park on the right side, across from FR #7190410, then walk 500 feet up the road to the Norse Peak Trailhead on the left. Follow Trail #1191 for 3.8 miles to the junction with Goat Lake Trail.
