BeachExpert Tips & Helpful Hints
  • The Wooden Boat Foundation serves three purposes. In addition to its status as a research facility, the organization offers classes, charters, and half-day to multi-day tours. It's also the force behind Port Townsend's annual Wooden Boat Festival in September.
  • "Learn to Sail" classes are for all skill levels ages eight and up. The Foundation has a variety of sailing camps for kids, teens, and adults.
  • "Build-A-Boat Family Boat Building" offers families with kids of all ages a chance to build a boat, row it, and take it home.
