The Fourth of July is an ideal trail for a short, early season workout or a leisurely climb to a scenic picnic spot. This trail is a steep, south facing route with many switchbacks. It offers rewarding views of the upper Icicle and Enchantments within the first mile. The trail eventually joins the Icicle Ridge Trail and provides opportunities to hikers for extended trips in the area. Watch for rattlesnakes!

Directions: From Leavenworth, Take Icicle Creek Road (#76) west for approximately 10 miles. Look for the trailhead on the right just past the Bridge Creek Campground.
