This 13 mile route traverses the crest of Devil's Backbone from the trailhead on Stormy Mountain. Road #8410 to Handy Spring Campground. There are outstanding viewing opportunities along the trail. Campsites and water are located at Handy Springs and at Windy Camp just north of the trailhead on Stormy Mountain. Road. The trail has some steep and rocky switchbacks and steep grades. Some sections require an experienced rider. The trail is maintained annually.

Directions: From Chelan, Travel west on U.S. 97 for approximately 3 miles to a junction. Stay right and follow the Lake on Forest Road 23 north for about 5 miles to Lake Chelan State Park. Turn off onto County Rd 2, then right onto Forest Service Rd 8500. Continue on 8500 to the intersection with Forest Service Rd 8410. Take the north branch (right) of 8410 and follow it for about 6 miles to the Devil's Backbone Trailhead.
