Access is limited to four-wheel-drive vehicles in fall and snowcats and snowmobiles in winter via an eight-mile private road. The fall season from mid-August through mid-October brings beautiful, bursting colors, great Indian Summer weather, and outstanding wilderness hiking and fishing. Skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing are the main attractions of the long winter season.

  • High Camp sits at the hub of 35 miles of scenic ski trails, varying in difficulty. Create long or short loops of whatever ability level you want, or hit the telemark slopes. Guests have access to topographical color maps of the trails.
  • When your visit at the high camp is through, ski back down to the parking lot rather than riding down the mountain on one of their snowmobiles.
  • A day hike from High Camp into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness can lead to trout filled lakes, making the warmer months a great time to visit, as well.
