Fort Ticonderoga is an impressively recreated 1755 military fort, originally built by the French, which played an important part in the history of the Lake Champlain and Lake George valleys. The monument, museum, and surrounding grounds offer something for everyone in your family, from the history lover to the military buff, to the child who's intrigued by uniforms and old-fashioned weapons. Guided and self-guided tours, musket demonstrations, fife and drum performances, costumed interpretations, and a museum offer visitors a glimpse of garrison life during the French and Indian War and Revolutionary War.

Set on Lake Champlain, the fort offers beautiful views, lovingly-restored buildings and over 1,000 18th-century weapons on display, including muskets, bayonets, and swords, as well as a collection of military uniforms.

The King's Garden, recreating the estate's Colonial Revival garden of 1921, is a destination in itself, offering a children's garden, restored greenhouse, and military garden.
