This trail leads past the pretty Lily, Wall, Hope, and Twin Lakes, then climbs up to the distinctive pass atop Notch Mountain, where you could retrace your route for a six-mile round-trip. Or, you could turn west and hike cross-country (you’ll need a map) to Three Divide Lakes, then turn south to Clyde Lake—a trail on its west side leads back to Crystal Lake for a six-mile loop. Another possibility, with a car shuttle, is to hike over the Notch to Bald Mountain Trailhead—ten miles one way. Crystal Lake Trailhead is reached by following the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway (UT 150) east from Kamas for 25.4 miles, then turning left toward Trial Lake and following signs for Crystal Lake. Bald Mountain Trailhead is on the left side of the highway, 3.7 miles beyond the Trial Lake turnoff.
