The Silver Fork Trail takes you to a lower mine. For your own safety, the State of Utah recommends that you do not enter any mine. About 3
miles from the trailhead is an upper bowl. At this point the elevation change is 1,500 feet. If you continue on about another mile, you junction with Grizzly Gulch (total elevation change of 1,940 feet). This trail crosses some private land. Please respect private property; do not trespass.
Directions: From Salt Lake City, Follow Big Cottonwood Canyon Road (7000 South Wasatch Blvd.) 12.7 miles up to Solitude. At the lower parking lot there is a locked gate nearby. Park along the highway, but be sure not to block the gate. On the west end of the lot, there should be a road to follow.
