Tree-lined and riverside trails occupy eight miles at River Legacy Parks, located in the heart of north Arlington. Bright flowers and bushy plants spread across 1,300 acres are a hideaway for birds, squirrels, opossums, and turtles. Paved trails fill early with bikers, joggers, and hikers, and there's even a canoe launch at Trinity River.

The park's Living Science Center focuses on nature education, with an animal room, riparian room, library, and outdoor observation decks. Each learning area has a "woodsy" feel, encouraging kids to observe, play, and explore the interactive exhibits.
