• The Lone Star Flight Museum is located next to Moody Gardens and the new Schlitterbahn Water Park at the Galveston International Airport at Scholes Field.
• There are old World War II bombers, fighters, trainers, and cargo planes housed in one of the airplane hangers.
• Initially a private airplane collection in 1985, the Phase I of the museum opened in 1990 and now houses 40 historically significant aircraft and over 1,500 artifacts.
