The Museum of Nature & Science (the result of the 2006 merger between the Museum of Natural History, Science Place and the Dallas Children's Museum) is a wonderful place for the child in all of us to explore our world and beyond through innovative programming and hands-on exhibits ranging from dinosaurs to DNA. Recently named "Best for Families 2008, Museum" by Dallas Child, and the city's most visited cultural institution, MNS inspires a lifelong love of nature, science and learning. At the museum's TI Founders IMAX® Theater, a 79-foot domed screen will immerse you in thrilling larger-than-life images for adventures such as exploring active volcanoes, the human body, undersea life, and outer space. With the MNS planetarium's cutting-edge Digistar3 projector system you can discover the wonders of the universe, trek through the stars of the pharaohs, or learn the secrets of the sun. In the newly renovated Children's Museum at MNS, kids will find a colorful, hands-on space that brings learning to life through experiential exhibits. Much more is on the horizon with design underway on a new 150,000-square-foot spectacular facility to be located in Victory Park adjacent to downtown Dallas.
