The Sugar Mountain Trail is a difficult 5.98 mile trail. This trail begins from the Tellico River Road near Pheasant Field Fishing Site and goes to Tipton Knob Road near Little Bald. Trailhead parking is available at Pheasant field.

Directions: From Tellico Plains, Travel south on State Hwy. 68 for approximately 5 miles and turn left onto County Hwy. 610. Travel on County Hwy. 610 for approximately 1.5 miles and turn left onto County Hwy. 623. Continue for 1.5 miles and turn right onto FDR #123. Continue for 5 miles and the road turns into FDR 126. Turn left onto FDR 210 and continue for 0.75 miles. The trail will be on the right.
