With a length of 23 km, the Aletsch is the longest glacier in the Alps. It is surrounded by the Aletsch Forest, which, at an altitude of 2,2000 meters is one of the highest stone pine forests in Europe. The popular Aletsch hike allows you to experience the glacier and the forest at close range. The route starts at Riederalp (Riederfurka) and leads along moraine trails through the natural park. There are breathtaking views all along the way. Then it leads to Lake Märjelen and from there to Fiescheralp.
