Picturesque Oberhofen Castle is situated on the shores of Lake Thun. A branch of Berne's Historical Museum, it now houses an important exhibition on Bernese furniture and home decor of various epochs. An array of period interiors ranging from the 16th to the 19th century invite visitors to explore. Special points of interest include the castle chapel with its mediaeval paintings, the Knight's Hall, the charming "Lake Turret", the elegant Summer Hall, the neo-Gothic Dining Room and the Turkish Smoking Room at the top of the building.
The park offers views of the lake against a majestic mountain backdrop. Thanks to the mild climate, this is one of the loveliest gardens in the Alpine region.
