Chateau-d'Oex is a hot-air balloon paradise! In the last week in January every year, Chateau-d'Oex provides the setting for an international spectacle, which is, in fact, the leading alpine ballooning event: the "Semaine Internationale de Ballons à Air Chaud" (International Hot Air Balloon Week) involves around 90 balloon pilots and is full of fascinating colours and shapes!
