• On Sweden's west coast, Marstrand is a favorite retreat of former Swedish King Oscar II and a popular summer resort. Potted pansies sit outside the cottages and lilacs fill the yards.
• Carlstens Fastning (Fortress) dominates the island. The drawbridge, courtyards, barracks, canons and prison cells with real shakles are most impressive. The fortress was build between 1658 and 1860. A period costumed soldier leads a tour recounting stores and myths about the fort.
• You will also find deep sea fishing, kayaking, and sailing on the island.
