This striking nature reserve in southwestern Ibiza is a limestone monolith that juts up over a 1,000 feet from the sea and is said to hold mystical powers. In fact, ask any local and you'll hear a story or two about UFO sightings over it. Others say it is a remnant of the lost city of Atlantis, since many divers have recovered strange artifacts from the bottom and are unable to put a time period on them. The island is uninhabited, and the European Union has declared it a Special Protection Area for the unique birds and sealife found here. You can visit the isle via glass-bottom boat or scuba trip, offered by a number of vendors in the main town of Eivissa.
