La Soufriere is the northernmost and youngest volcano on Saint Vincent Island, and it is home to the island's highest peak at over 4,000 feet. It last erupted in April 1979. Ambitious hikers can embark on a three-mile hike up steep, twisting mountain roads to the the summit's rim, which is surrounded by a rocky lava field. Near the volcano's base is Rebecca Farms, one of the largest single coconut estates in the world.
