Parks and OutdoorsExpert Tips & Helpful Hints
- America's largest outdoor sculpture display contains more than 500 works, all created by American artists. It's a remarkable collection, sprinkled about a classic Old Southern Plantation garden. Either, by itself, would make the visit worthwhile, but together they make this site a must-see.
- Brookgreen is made up of four separate plantations purchased and combined by sculptress Anna Hyatt Huntington and her husband Collis Huntington, the stepson heir of Big Four railroad tycoon Archer Huntington. Nearby Huntington Beach is named for the younger Huntington; the famed California surfing spot of the same name honors his stepfather.
- The huge spread here includes a small wildlife park and a large aviary.
