- Kapiolani Park can be a full-day experience if you choose. It's home to the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, tennis courts, and a three-mile jogging course.
- Some trees are more than a century old, and if you're looking for a peaceful, shady place to sit and walk with locals and visitors, this is a good choice.
- One of the best things about the park is its free entertainment, a bonus in Waikiki where shows and clubs are expensive. Performances include the Royal Hawaiian Band, who performs Sunday afternoons at the band shell.
This 500-acre park, built in the 1870s, is listed on the State's Historic Register. It's as much the real Waikikiperhaps more sothan the famous beaches.
