• More than 300 yards wide and three miles long, Papohaku is one of the longest white-sand beaches in all of Hawaii. What's amazing is that you can often have the entire thing to yourself. If you like walking on a long stretch of sand, this is your beach.
• Strong tradewinds can blow along this beach, but when all is calm—often in summer—it can offer decent snorkeling and diving.
• There are restrooms, picnic facilities, and drinking water. To reach the beach you walk through a small forest, but don't take off your shoes until you're out on the sand because there can be stickers.
