  • Snorkeling on Lanai doesn't get much better than this. Off this huge expanse of golden sand is the most accessible snorkeling site on the island. Best area: Along the rocks on the left side of the bay. This is a protected marine environment—leave every stone, shell, and tidepool creature in its place.
  • If you're lucky, you'll be sharing the bay with spinner dolphins tossing themselves gracefully in the air.
  • In addition to snorkeling, Hulopoe Beach Park is a great beach for swimming, bodyboarding, and checking out tidepools. There are restrooms, picnic tables, and grills as well, and because both locals and tourists come here, it's a place for mingling with locals. (If the locals are snorkeling, that means the water is really clear.)
