Located just outside of Hana, Hamoa is a public beach that shares some facilities with the Hotel Hana Maui. Voted as one of Hawaii's favorite beaches, visitors enjoy swimming and bodysurfing. The bay is surrounded by sea cliffs and lush vegetation.

  • Hamoa, on Maui's eastern shore, shares some facilities with Hotel Hana Maui.
  • Popular activities here include swimming, snorkeling, diving, bodysurfing, and boogie boarding. Warning: The surf can dangerous, so bodysurfers and boogie boarders should be very experienced. If you venture beyond the bay, you could end up in potentially strong currents.
  • Facilities include restrooms and picnic areas, but there are no lifeguards. There's no public parking either; visitors have to park on the road and walk the stairs to the beach.
Hamoa is one of the island's most beautiful public beaches, in part because of the sea cliffs that surround it. It's not surprising that this beach has been voted one of Hawaii's favorites.
