On the extreme southern tip of Martinique, this beach lacks major development, which is precisely what makes it one of the best areas on the isle to spend an idyllic day swimming and sunbathing. The sand is sparkling white compared to the more grayish beaches in the north of the island, and the climate is dry and arid. There are a few low-key restaurants, fresh fruit and ice cream stands, chaise lounges for rent, and souvenir kiosks selling swimsuits and sarongs. Waves can sometimes be strong, but on the whole it's safe for swimming. Come on a weekday to have the place practically to yourself, on weekends it can be elbow-to-elbow with sunsoakers (everyone seems to know it's one of the finest beaches on Martinique).
