Daytona Beach, one of the world's most famous beaches, welcomes more than 8 million tourists annually to its numerous special events. One special feature of the beaches is sea turtle season, from May to October, when the endangered creatures emerge from the surf at night to lay their eggs in nests dug into the dry sand, then return to the sea.
