This 900-acre county park consists of five keys, and features the Spanish-American War fort that bears its name, which is open for public tours. Visitors to the park can enjoy the numerous nature and recreation trails suited for hiking, biking, and walking. The area's North Beach was ranked number one in the top 10 10 beaches list for 2005, and highlights also include an 800-foot-long boat launching facility with eleven floating docks, a 2 mile canoe trail, a 7-mile multipurpose trail, and a 238-site family camping area.
