In St. Pete, a city that's not exactly known as a hotbed of gay nightlife, Georgie's Alibi is the long-running ruler of the scene and avoids the downtrodden air that plagues most of the other local venues. Set in an attractive single-story brick building in the gay Grand Central District, it has two distinct areas, both lined with video screens—one sporty with pool tables, and the other with a dance floor that gets packed on weekends. The Saturday night crowd typically overflows onto the outside patio, and its Thursday Long Island Iced Tea night is so infamous that it inspires Tampa LGBTers to trek across the bridge. The basic pub fare menu has plenty of fans as well. Expect to see just about every type here, from bears to bois to lesbians.
