Bonneville Lock and Dam, operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers, spans the Columbia River and links Washington and Oregon. Since 1938, Bonneville Dam has supplied the region with inexpensive electrical power and today offers one of the largest public viewing facilities in the Corps of Engineers.
