The Islands of Adventure theme park opened in May 1999 as an expansion to the Universal Orlando Resort, and is comprised of six themed islands, "Port of Entry," "Marvel Super Hero Island," "Jurassic Park," "Toon Lagoon," "The Lost Continent," and "Seuss Landing." Director Steven Spielberg is the creative consultant for the park, which features roller coasters, dining, and shopping options.
